Pickering, Ontario \u2013 March 31, 2025 \u2013 The Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ivette Vera- Perez as its new President and CEO, effective March 31, 2025. Ms Vera-Perez’s experience includes leadership and growth of member organizations and over 20 years in the energy, cleantech, and sustainability sectors, Ms. Vera-Perez brings a wealth of knowledge in strategic planning, business development and multi-partnered collaborations to advance low-carbon solutions in Canada and globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most recently, Ms. Vera-Perez served as President & CEO of the Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA), where she led the association’s rebranding and national expansion, doubling its membership in just two years. She worked closely with the Government of Canada to advance the Hydrogen Strategy for Canada, reinforcing the country’s leadership in clean energy.

Before CHA, she was the National Team Lead for Mitacs, fostering industry-academia partnerships in cleantech and advanced manufacturing. She managed over $275 million in greenhouse gas reduction program funding at the Ontario Centres of Innovation. An active advocate for clean energy, Ms. Vera-Perez has also held board positions with the Canada Cleantech Alliance, the Ontario Clean Technologies Industry Association (OCTIA), and the Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance (AHA).<\/p>\n<\/div>

in the clean energy sector, as well as her passion for growing member-based associations, will

Her appointment comes at a crucial time for Canada’s nuclear industry. With trade uncertainties, increasing global competition, and the need for long-term energy security, OCNI remains committed to supporting its members, strengthening Canada’s nuclear supply chain, and expanding international partnerships. Ms. Vera-Perez’s leadership will be instrumental in navigating these challenges while advancing nuclear innovation, supply chain development, and workforce growth.

OCNI sincerely appreciates Brian Fehrenbach’s leadership and dedication as Interim President and CEO. His guidance and commitment have played a pivotal role in ensuring continuity and stability for OCNI and its members during this transition period. Brian will assume an expanded role as VP, Growth and Strategy, effective immediately.
